Kedah, Malaysia

Kedah is one of the states of Malaysia and is located in the northwestern part of Peninsular Malaysia. It is popularly known as Darul Aman, i.e. the Abode of Peace.  This state has the population of 1,890,098. It consists of the mainland and Langkawi. The mainland is basically a flat terrain, which is used to grow rice while Langkawi is an archipelago of islands. Pedu Lake is the famous and the largest man-made lake in the state.


It borders the state of Perlis and an international boundary with the Songkhla and Yala provinces of Thailand to the north. It also borders the state of Perak to the south and Penang to the southwest.



The state is full of various religions namely Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Chinese Ethnic, etc. . These are the main religions that performed by many people . Islam is the most common religion that performed here.


Education in the state is good enough to pursue higher studies. Various universities and colleges are there to pursue higher education.  Technical institutes are also there to get technical education. For kids, various public, private and boarding schools are there that provide quality education.


Transportation is good as the state is well connected with other states of Malaysia as well as other countries. Roads, railway, ports, airports, etc.. are there that are preferred by people for going from one place to another. Langkawi International Airport is the popular airport.

Thus, the state has lots to discover or explore. It is one of the best locations that are visited most during the trip to Malaysia.
