Perak is one of the thirteen states of Malaysia. It is one of the second largest states in Peninsular Malaysia. Its capital is Ipoh and inhabits approximately 2,258,428 people. Its official name is Perak Darul Ridzuan or Perak (the Abode of Grace).

It borders Kedah and the Thai Yala Province to the north, Penang to the northwest, Kelantan and Pahang to the east, Selangor to the south and the straits of Malacca to the west.

Perak covers an area of 21,035 km2 which make up around 6.4 percent of total land banks in Malaysia. Here the days are warm and sunny while the nights are cool throughout the year and occasional rains in the evenings. The temperature ranges from 23 to 33 degree Celsius.

Many religions are performed there such as Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Chinese Ethnic, etc.. Each community performs their own religion.

Many universities and colleges are there that provide quality education to the students. Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman and Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Universiti Teknologi Petronas, etc.. are some of the popular universities as well as colleges.

Cuisines are the thing for which the Perak is famous all around. Some of the popular cuisines are Lemang, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Hari Raya Haji, Tempoyak,  etc.. These dishes are so luscious that cannot be forgotten by anyone.

The railway is the major transport system. The Ipoh railway station is an imposing structure in the city that connects to the nearby states of the country.
